DIRECTOR OF DJ'S AND LIVE SHOWS

DJ UNCLE BLACK

Introducing Dj Uncle Black

The Face of Duval County DJing

Some DJs play music. Pierre Fenn Jr. builds a room. For more than fifteen years, the man the culture knows as DJ Uncle Black has been Duval County’s go-to architect of atmosphere — the guy who can walk into a half-empty lounge and, three songs later, have every generation in the building on its feet. Today he’s not just Jacksonville’s most trusted name behind the turntables; he’s an executive shaping where an entire record label’s sound goes next.

Where It Started

Ask him why he does this, and the answer is refreshingly uncomplicated. He always wanted to entertain — to take a room full of strangers and make them feel something through music. Fifteen-plus years later, that’s still the whole mission. Everything else — the residencies, the executive title, the tour stops — grew out of that one instinct.
His genre of choice has never wavered: R&B is home base. It’s the sound he reaches for first, the pocket he knows better than anyone else in the city, and the foundation his entire signature style is built on.

The Sound

DJ Uncle Black doesn’t work a set from behind the booth — he works it in the crowd. He sings along. He dances with the people who came to dance. It’s a hands-on, no-separation approach that comes from genuine love of the moment, not performance for performance’s sake. And he doesn’t have one crowd he plays for — he plays for all of them. Every race, every type of event, every kind of room. That versatility is exactly why his resume has grown as large as it has, and why promoters across Northeast Florida keep his number on speed dial.

His style blends R&B, classic and contemporary Hip-Hop, Southern Soul, and jazz-inflected rhythms into a sound built for the grown-and-sexy crowd — refined enough for a luxury brunch, energetic enough to close out a block party.

Built on the Road

If you ask him about his proudest moment in the game, he won’t point to a single night. He points to the movement — the new cities, the new faces, the relationships built one gig at a time, and the doors that opened because of it. That mindset has taken him well past the DJ booth:

  • Headlined two Southern Soul Summer Jams
  • Rocked an R&B showcase in Savannah alongside Jon B
  • Runs the official after-party for Jacksonville’s Black Rodeo
  • Weekly residencies at Cigars International (Thursdays and Sundays), X Lounge (Fridays), and Skyline (Saturdays)
  • Partnered with New Balance for a nationwide youth track meet
  • Serves as the official DJ for University of North Florida and Jackson High School basketball

That’s not a hobbyist’s schedule. That’s a working professional’s calendar — the kind built one earned booking at a time.

More Than a DJ

Turntables are only one lane. Fenn is also active as a promoter, A&R, and event host, which is exactly the skill set that made him the right fit for his current executive role.

The Executive: Director of DJ Relations & Promotions, The Cash Family Music

As Director of DJ Relations & Promotions for The Cash Family Music, his job is simple to state and relentless to execute: get every record from every Cash Family artist into the hands of DJs everywhere — lounges, clubs, bars, radio stations, festivals, wherever a DJ is standing, the music needs to be there too. In that seat, he’s the connective tissue behind the label’s 2026 flagship roster, “The Great Six”:

  • Jaxson Hart — Dallas, TX
  • Cody Knight — Sevierville, TN
  • Jasmine Love — Miami, FL
  • Kasey Daye — Fairview, TN
  • OG Frank — Jackson, MS
  • Saint James — Brooklyn, NY

His vision for the role is straightforward and ambitious at once: take the label and its artists to the top, and get their music on the charts where it belongs.

What’s Next

Ask about the next three to five years, and there’s no hesitation. He wants The Cash Family Music sound to go global, and he wants to be counted among the top DJs in the country. Not as a vague aspiration — as a target he’s actively working toward every weekend, every residency, every new city.

When it’s all said and done, he doesn’t want to be remembered for any one record or any one night. He wants people — fans and artists alike — to remember his hard work, his ambition, his passion, and his grind.

The Why Behind the Work

Strip away the titles, and the reason is personal. He’s a mama’s boy who loves his kids dearly, and every stage he steps on, every partnership he builds, is ultimately in service of one thing: building something lasting for his family. Generational wealth, earned one set at a time.
